Carmen received her BS in Dietetics with a minor in Biology and her MS in Food and Nutrition from Bowling Green State University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Nutritional Sciences and Wellness under the mentorship of Dr. Richard Simpson. Her doctoral research focuses on the physiological stress response to exercise and several performance metrics of military populations, with the goal of enhancing wartime readiness and physical resilience in high-stress environments and operational settings. Carmen is also a Registered Dietitian and serves as an Associate Professor of Practice in the School of Nutritional Sciences and Wellness, where she teaches undergraduate courses in the Nutrition and Human Performance Bachelor's degree program.
