Dayannara (Day) is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Physiology at the University of Arizona, where she will be working under the mentorship of Dr. Richard Simpson. Her doctoral work will focus on immunological responses and human performance in elite military populations, with the aim of advancing strategies to enhance resilience and readiness in high-demand operational settings.
Day holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Master's degree from Columbia University. Prior to beginning her Ph.D., she served as a military officer in the Air Force, and currently serves as a Reservist. She also worked as a strength and conditioning coach at the University of Arizona, further fueling her interest in the intersections of physiology, human performance, and immune health.
