Elizabeth Ghartey

Elizabeth was raised in Gilbert, Arizona. She is a 2023 recipient of the Flinn Scholarship and an undergraduate student in the W.A. Franke Honors College. She is majoring in applied mathematics and molecular and cellular biology. 

Elizabeth’s interest in hematology began with early encounters with sickle cell disease’s impact in the black community. She intends to pursue a medical degree after completing her undergraduate degrees and is inclined towards hematology-oncology and pediatrics.
