Matthew Edwards
Matthew is from Kingston, Jamaica and moved to the United States to pursue his bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Miami. Here he conducted research at the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. His research focused on the use of cannabinoids, exercise and stem cell transplantation as an analgesic for pain associated with neuropathies. Matthew is now pursuing his master's degree in Physiological Sciences at the University of Arizona. His interests in immunology and cancer led him to join Dr. Katsanis's lab, where he is excited to work.
Research interests:
1. To investigate the potential synergistic effects of exercise and pharmaceutical intervention on various forms of leukemia.
2. To investigate the effects of memory-like NK cells and anti-CD19 drugs in B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemias.
